Horror Smash at Mallory Park (13-8-09)

Amanda Whitaker suffered a huge crash at Mallory Park this weekend in the HSCC Formula Ford Championship.

She started from 3rd position and made a good getaway at the lights to run alongside Westie Mitchell into the first corner Gerrards, but Westie missed a gear on the exit, selecting 2nd instead of 4th gear from 3rd. This locked up the rear of the car & pitched it sideways, clouting the front left corner of Amanda's car & badly damaging the nose cone.

In changing conditions the SPEED Series pilots battled the elements and each other for every minute of the 3 hour race as the teams paid their annual visit to the iconic Brands GP circuit. Formula Palmer Audi Driver Andrews on the road to recovery (31-7-09)
Formula Palmer Audi racer Kenny Andrews is on the road to making a full recovery following an accident at Oulton Park last weekend (24/25 July). Drive available : Atkins Motorsport drive available at Brands Hatch in SPEED Series

Silverstone International Circuit testing opportunity

Further to the testing available at Silverstone on the day prior to the SPEED Series event, an extra opportunity has arisen to drive the track on Tuesday 11th August.

The cost to test is £275.00 incl. vat per car with no extra cost for additional drivers. Sessions on the day will be 2 x 45 minutes in the morning and 1 x 45 and 1 x 30 minute sessions in the afternoon. A pit garage can also be booked at a cost of £60 incl. vat.

British Grand Prix race marshals enjoy AT&T Williams F1 Team hospitality (24-6-09)

Thirty marshals received an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the FIA Formula 1 paddock at Silverstone as well as the AT&T Williams team prior to going on duty for the weekend’s British Grand Prix.

Each member of the group was a winner in a special competition arranged by Go Motorsport – the campaign set up by the Motor Sports Association (MSA), the governing body of motor sport in the UK, to help guide people into all areas of motor sport, be it as a competitor, spectator or volunteer.

Singleton was racing for the weekend as a reward for being one of the six finalists in the 2009 Carrera Cup GB Scholarship and had never raced anything other than a kart or a single-seater before.
